Maradi Forest Homestay - Chikmagalur

My title
Located amidst lush rolling green hills in the district of Chikmagalur, Maradi homestay is dubbed as the “forest homestay”. True to its word, the homestay is situated among deep jungle terrain away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. One can truly enjoy the sounds of chirping birds and the occasional cry of a wild animal in this nature’s basket.

Accommodation is either cottages with attached bathrooms or additionally there is also option to sleep in tents which will give a feel of the wilderness. There is option of multiple groups and the accommodations are spread across a huge area. Talking about the food, be it breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or dinner, all are very high quality and tasty. The quantity served is plentiful and can actually be more than is requested.

Hospitality is good, although the service can be a bit slow. The owner of the homestay stays some distance away from the cottages and does not usually mingle with the guests.
Unexpectedly, out of nowhere a few local friendly dogs will come running and relax with the group. Among the other facilities provided is  archery, air rifle, swing to play and football. Evening there will be option to have a campfire.

A few kilometres away there are breath-taking trekking spots and also a beautiful waterfall.

As the night sets in, the creature sounds of the night come alive and the starry sky above makes for a spectacle to behold. An unforgettable experience…one that cannot be forgotten…

Excellent Location + Amazing Food + Superb Climate + Unlimited Fun = Maradi…

Naadmane Homestay - Coorg

"Nadamane...home away from home"

Nadamane homestay is located approximately 45 kms from Madikeri, the capital of Coorg district.

Totally we were 15 people and had booked a minibus to carry all our luggage and party equipment. Party equipment will be detailed later on below :-)
A very of our close friends could not make it to the trip due to other commitments.
Due to heavy rain on the night of 24th April, we were forced to leave a bit late.
Neverthless we reached Nadamane on the early morning of 25th April 2015 around 7:30 am.
We were greeted by the caretakers at the homestay and after some time the owner of the homestay also came to welcome us.
The homestay is a old ancestral home which also has a big compound. The house is very spacious with 3 bedrooms with attached bathrooms.
Behind the house is the place where campfire is put during the nights for a party.
Saturday morning was spent relaxing after a hectic party session in the minibus overnight during travel. The music started blasting from
the boombox speaker that we had newly bought for the trip.
Occassionally the power was being cut, during which we used the battery operated Bose iPod docks that we had brought. There was no
stopping the music at any cost.
In the afternoon a few of the members started playing a game of cards along with some refreshing drinks and side dishes.
All of us had a nice time along with the head massager device that I had brought along.
After lunch, most of us took a nap until evening.
In the evening, all the people started to get ready for the party. The fog machine was setup carefully, disco lights was placed strategically and party music
playlist was ready for blasting from the boombox. The boombox was fitted onto the supplied tripod which can be rotated at 360 degree angle.
The drinks counter was managed by Jayanth who also prepared some beautiful cocktails. All the top drinks were available like Jim Beam black, Jim Beam devils cut, Ballantines, Campari etc.
Sarvana took control of the chats counter where he prepared some very tasty pani puri, bhel puri and masala papad.
Barbecue grill also was being managed by Jayanth who prepared some amazing grilled chicken and mutton.
The party went on for long time into the night with drinks and food flowing. There were also some country dogs who were sitting and seemed
like they too were enjoying the music and campfire!
Now to the pros and cons of the experience:
Positives:
----------
1] Spacious rooms to hold upto 15 people comfortably
2] Nice location
3] Mobile phone reception is good
4] Economically priced
5] Music can be put with full loudness without any problem

Negatives:
----------
1] Food variety and taste is below average. This needs to be improved very much.
